FBI-E - Ethernet interface
Overview
· Plug-in Board and Gateway
Version
· 10/100 Base-T
· Integrated TCP/IP Protocol
The term Ethernet refers
to the family of local-area network (LAN) products covered
by the IEEE 802.3 standard. Ethernet is one of the major LAN
technology (it is currently used for approximately 85 percent
of the world's LAN-connected PCs and workstations) because
its protocol has the following characteristics:
· Is easy to understand, implement,
manage, and maintain
· Allows low-cost network implementations
· Provides extensive topological flexibility for network
installation
· Guarantees successful interconnection and operation
of
standards-compliant products, regardless of manufacturer.
FBI-SE Ethernet plug-in board
FBI-SE is a serial to Ethernet converter for a single instrument.
It is an Interface plug-in board for all our modular meters.
It is fully compatible as for size and connection to the other
plug-in boards available for ALGODUE meters.
Each unit equipped with a FBI-SE board can be connected to
the Ethernet network and can communicate to a host.
The board is supplied with a base
software to program a proper IP address and the main parameters.
If an internet access is available
it is very simple to build distributed networks and connect
the meters remotely for data viewing, setup or data collection.
FBI-32E Ethernet gateway
FBI-32E is a module for converting RS232 or RS485 serial to
Ethernet. It can be used by all our meters (modular and not).
It can connect a RS485 network with maximum 32 meters or a
single device with RS232 to an Ethernet or internet network
and communicate to a host.
The module is supplied with a base
software to program a proper
IP address and the main parameters.
If an internet access
is available it is very simple to build distributed networks
and connect the meters remotely for data viewing, setup or
data collection.
FBI-32E is completely transparent as for communication and
can therefore work with all devices equipped with RS232 or
RS485 port.
